Dr. Asthalter brings Active Release Technique to Summit County. It is a highly effective treatment for injuries to the soft tissues of the body. While in his second trimester at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic he attended a lecture given by an alumnus who spoke about treating soft tissue injuries with a technique called Active Release Technique (ART). His explanation of the healing process and how it could be facilitated with the use of this technique struck a chord. He started taking additional courses in ART in addition to his regular course work, allowing him to become certified in ART while still in school. The technique requires a developed sense of touch and he believes that he will be better able to serve his patients here in the county because of those three years of experience. He is the only provider of ART in the county and looks forward to educating the public in what ART can do for them.
Dr. John is also trained in Trigenics Myoneural Medicine (myo-muscule, neuro-nerve). He trained directly with the Trigenics developer Dr. Allan Oolo Austin. This technique is a neurologically based soft tissue assessment and manipulative treatment system that symbiotically combines 1. Autogenics (controlled breathing with biofeedback), 2. Myogenics(meridian muscle manipulation) 3. Neurogenics (reflex neurology). By using this technique Dr. Asthalter is able to help the body and brain communicate more effectively and thereby function at a higher level.
